Abstract
Defects of the heel and sole of the foot present difficult reconstructive problems. Little local tissue is available for reconstruction and often the underlying disorder precludes the use of certain procedures. The heel and the sole are vital musculoskeletal structures, responsible for shock absorption, weight bearing and locomotion.

The flap for coverage should be well padded but not bulky. In addition, when resurfacing sizable defects of the weight bearing plantar surface, a flap affording protective sensation is desirable. The idel reconstructive technique should entail one operative procedure with minimal morbidity.

Many surgical modalities beginning with a skin graft and ending with microvascular transplantation are now available to the reconstructive surgeon.

Here we present 7 cases of defects of heel and sole treated by various procedures such as 2 arterial flap, 2 muscular flap, 1 neurovascular island flap and 2 free flap.
